About Olivette

I didn't always have a lanuguage for the life I was living.

On the outside, I was doing what needed to be done.

Showing up. Taking care of people.

Handling

responsibilities.

Being the strong one.

The responsible one.

The one others could depend on.

But somewhere along the way...

realized I wasn't living a life that felt like mine.

That realization didn't come from a breakdown.

It came from a quiet awareness:

"I should feel happier than this."

And I didn't.

By  the age of 27, I had lost my mother, grandmother,

and my great-grandmother within a year.

Three generations.

Gone.

That kind of loss doesn't just change your life ...

it changes how you move through it.

It deepened my sense of responsibility.

It strengthened my ability to keep going.

But it also revealed something I hadn't fully faced:

I had learned how to ...survive. but not how to live in joy.

As a School Counselor, I've worked for thousands of children and their families.

And over time, I began to notice something...

The patterns I was helping children navigate were the same patterns

their mothers were living.

Women who were:

carrying everything

holding everyone together

showing up for everyone else.

but quietly disconnected from themselves.

That's when everything began to come together.

My personal experience.

My professional work.

And the patterns I could finally name.

I created Root to Rise as a way to help women understand:

Why their life feels like it's not their own...

and how to change that from the inside out.

This work isn't about motivation.

It's about awareness.

It's about recognizing the survival patterns you've been living in...

and learning how to move differently.

Because most women don't need more discipline.

They need space.

Space to hear themselves.

Space to choose differently.

Space to reconnect with who they are outside of everything they carry.

Through Root to Rise, Joy Collective and The Modern-Day Kitchen,

I create spaces where women can:

slow down, tell the truth, be supported and begin again.

This is not about becoming someone new.

It's about returning to yourself.

Who This Work is For

This work is for women who:

is holding everything together

is used to being the strong one

feels responsible for everyone else

has achieved a lot... but still

feels disconnected

does'nt lack discipline...

but lacks space

She's not falling apart

She's just ready for something more.

My Life Outside the Work

Joy for me looks like:

old movies

black and white photos

music playing in the background

as I'm cleaning my house

cozy nights at home traveling

and quiet moments with my husband and family.

Because joy isn't something

I visit anymore.

It's something I've learned

how to live in.

And that's what I help other women do too.

I help women understand why their lives feel like it's not theirs... so they can create a space-not just in their schedule.... but in themselves so they can stop visiting joy and actually live there.
